Proposal Objective 


The main objectives of this project revolve around the design and development of a small-scale heated composter, strategically addressing the challenges posed by the decline in composting efficiency during winter. Aligned with the core principles of sustainability and the circular economy, the project aims to enhance composting efficiency, contributing to sustainable waste management practices and reducing the burden on landfills. In the context of Design Engineering, the project adopts an innovative bricolage approach, combining existing technologies with novel solutions to create a composter that sets new standards for efficiency and eco-conscious waste management.

 Trip To Sackers Waste Management Claydon, Suffolk To deepen my understanding of waste management and explore real-world applications for my temperature-controlled prototype, I was fortunate to receive an invitation from a family friend who owns Sackers Recycling in Claydon, Suffolk. This visit provided me with a unique opportunity to observe waste management practices on an industrial scale. Walking through the facilities, I witnessed the intricate processes involved in sorting, processing, and recycling various types of waste. Engaging with the professionals at Sackers Recycling allowed me to gain insights into the challenges faced by the industry and the innovative solutions being implemented to address them.
