Week 1 Meeting With First And Second Markers
Meeting With First And Second Markers
In the aim of a comprehensive and well-guided approach to my final year major project, I recently engaged in discussions with my project markers, Simon Best and Michael Margolis. The primary focus of the discussion was to establish effective lines of communication and chart a clear path for the successful execution of the small-scale heated composter project.
One of the initial considerations revolved around determining an optimal schedule for the weekly meetings. Recognising the significance of regular communication, we worked together to identify a suitable time slot each week that accommodated the commitments of all participants. This commitment to a consistent meeting schedule lays the foundation for ongoing updates, problem-solving, and collaborative brainstorming sessions throughout the project.
The scope of the composting project emerged as a central topic during our discussions. Simon and Michael wanted a comprehensive understanding of the project's objectives, constraints, and key considerations. We looked into the intricacies of designing a small-scale heated composter, addressing specific challenges associated with composting efficiency during the winter months. Our conversation revolved around promoting sustainable waste management practices and mitigating the impact of organic waste on landfills.
Transitioning from project scope to strategic planning, we initiated the process of curating a time plan. Recognising the importance of a structured approach to project management, I began crafting a table plan that spans the entirety of the 12-week project timeline. This plan is designed to present weekly tasks, milestones, and objectives, providing a roadmap for the systematic development of the small-scale heated composter prototype.
The discussions with Simon Best and Michael Margolis have laid a solid foundation for the upcoming stages of the project. The establishment of a regular meeting schedule, clarity on project scope, and the inception of a detailed time plan collectively contribute to a well-organised and purposeful undertaking. As the project progresses, these early conversations will serve as a guiding framework for effective collaboration and successful project outcomes.
