DHT22 Sensor Fit Up

 DHT22 Sensor Fit Up

Today marked the final phase of assembly for the temperature-controlled prototype, culminating in installing the DHT22 sensor onto the underside of the lid. This step involved securing the sensor in place using three 3mm screws, although one screw required minor sanding of its head to ensure a snug fit. Once attached, a 6mm hole was carefully drilled through the lid to allow for the passage of the sensor wire. With the sensor properly connected, I opted to staple it to the wire to maintain a tidy and streamlined appearance, ensuring efficient operation without any loose components.

Following the sensor installation, attention turned to enhancing the lid's functionality and aesthetic appeal. A cork disc, hand-cut from the same sustainable cork material used for the gasket, was fashioned to cover the lid, providing both ergonomic design and thermal efficiency benefits. While time constraints prevented the use of adhesive, the cork disc was securely fastened to the lid with staples, ensuring a robust and durable attachment. With the final touches in place, the prototype completed, representing good design and precise craftsmanship. It has now been transported home for further testing and evaluation.
